Actions before theory

bigdata_800

Lawyers are taught and are used to analyze situation from a theoretical perspective first. The FLINT method prioritizes actions before theory. It does so by interpreting legal sources based on legal questions based on the relevant acts, facts and then duties. The method is consisted of the following 5 steps:

  1. Define normative question
  2. Locate relevant normative sources
  3. Interpret sources based on acts, facts and duties
  4. Compare interpretations and answer question
  5. Resolve disputes, if necessary
